MSW School Life

Extended Day Program

EDP Hockey

The Extended Day Program (EDP) at MSW serves families that desire both parochial school education and supplementary care in a Christian environment. It provides professional care, supervision, recreation, and enrichment activities for children enrolled at MSW in preschool (age 3) through 8th grade. The program is open each school day before and after school hours as well as school half days and staff in-service days. EDP is held in the Clark Ministry Center at the north end of the school, with use of the outside playground and two school gyms.

The program provides individual attention, security, consistency, and fair treatment for all children. This professionally operated program allows students to experience a rich diversity of growth activities within a Catholic environment. Activities are planned to complement the philosophy and value systems of the school and family.

The Extended Day Program also operates all summer long, offering a full day (7 AM to 6 PM) Summer Enrichment Program that incorporates rotating structured activities on-site as well as trips to local Park Ridge swimming pools and a fun Friday field trip each week.

EDP Director, Mrs. Leslie Marbach, is always happy to speak with prospective parents and provide a tour of the Clark Ministry Center. Please call the EDP Office at 847-692-2826.

Extended Day Program Hours: 6:30 AM - 6:00 PM

EDP is staffed by a director and a number of devoted and committed aides. The staff, employed on a full- or part-time basis, work together to help each child grow in maturity and self-respect. They maintain an atmosphere wherein respect and understanding for others is realized.

  • Before School Care: Students read, play with toys and games, or complete homework.
  • After School Care: Separated by age group, the students work on their homework and then have snack time. They go outside when the weather permits or to the gym for exercise. They participate in arts and crafts projects and play with the many games and toys.

After School Programs

EDP offers rotating extra-curricular activities including hip-hop, cooking, gymnastics, dance, chess, basketball, and ballet.  These on-site programs are usually one-hour sessions that meet weekly for six to eight weeks and are offered at an additional cost.

All students are welcome to participate in EDP-sponsored after-school programs, whether or not they attend EDP. Non-EDP students must be picked up at the end of the extra-curricular program.
