MSW School Life

Interscholastic Athletics - Grades 4 thru 8

Softball, Baseball, Track and Field, Cross Country, Basketball, Volleyball, and Soccer

The Mary, Seat of Wisdom Athletic Committee, comprised of parents and other adult volunteers, coordinates an interscholastic athletic program supplemental to the school’s educational curriculum.

All children are given the opportunity to participate in any athletic program provided they follow the published guidelines. The athletic program is integrated into the Catholic Christian tradition of the school. The program develops the total student by integrating good sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership. Parental/guardian participation is expected to aid in achieving this goal.

Beginning in 4th grade, the following sports are offered: boys and girls basketball, boys and girls cross-country, boys and girls track, and boys and girls volleyball. Co-ed soccer is offered beginning in fifth grade. Boys baseball and girls softball is offered to 7th and 8th grade students.

The School’s Extended Day Program hosts various intramural athletic activities which are generally offered immediately after school. For more information, visit the Extended Day webpage.

TRACK AND FIELD REGISTRATION

Coach Requirements - All coaches are required to complete the following BEFORE coaching begins: Criminal Background Check, VIRTUS Training, CANTS DCFS Background Check, Code of Conduct Form, Mandated Reporter Training. Instructions for completing these items can be found HERE.

Proof of Medical Exam for Sports Form - ALL students participating in MSW School sports must have a physical examination form on file with the school office. This will be mandatory. Everyone registered for a school sport MUST have a physical examination form submitted by the first game in order to be eligible to play.
