BACKGROUND & EDUCATION
I was educated in Catholic schools for over twenty years of my life, starting in first grade and continuing through graduate school. I attended St. Ignatius College Prep for high school and then Loyola University, Chicago. I earned a B.A. in English, a B.S. in elementary education, and an M.Ed. in reading. I have three Illinois state teaching certificates with various endorsements in reading, English, language arts, and social science.

YEARS OF TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I began my teaching career in 1992 as a reading specialist. I came to Mary, Seat of Wisdom in 1993 as a junior high literature and grammar teacher. I have since taught at Mary, Seat for over 16 years before and after taking time off to have my three children. My daughter is currently a fifth grader at Mary, Seat. I have two sons that graduated from Mary, Seat; one is completing his senior year at UCLA, and the other just started his freshman year at Fordham University in New York.

Teaching junior high is enjoyable to me because I get the opportunity to see the students grow so much as they prepare for high school. I love their humor, their intelligence, and their honesty.  And I love being able to teach them about great authors like Poe, Christie, Capote, Bradbury, to name a few.
